A Journey of Self-Discovery, Growth, and Well-Being
As we make our way through life, sometimes we get stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what to do. A strained relationship, a difficult transition, a lingering feeling that can no longer be ignored. Maybe you've tried making changes, but you keep finding yourself back in the same familiar spot. In these situations, what might be needed is a moment of pause so that you can untangle your thoughts, feel what needs to be felt, and intentionally decide where to place your next step.

My name is Greg and I'm a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor in Nelson, B.C. I offer individual therapy both online and in-person for adults navigating the hurdles and hardships of life. My approach is gentle, collaborative, and rooted in attunement. I view counselling as a process where we get to explore the tender aspects of life where you feel uncertain, disconnected, or unsupported. As we bring awareness to the patterns shaping your experience, together we'll practice taking steps towards change that is meaningful to you.
Session Foundations
A Few Key Factors
Relational
Healthy relationships are a core pillar of a person's well-being.

Some the healing work can only occur through human connection. Together we can bring awareness to the relational patterns that no longer serve you. With time, new ways of relating that are grounded in trust and authenticity can begin to emerge.
Somatic
We are more than what's between our ears. The body holds experiences that the brain hasn't had the chance to fully process. Together we'll track the sensations and movements that arise in the body, help it release tension, and restore regulation.

By regularly connecting to the innate wisdom of the body, we can learn to feel more grounded, present, and at ease in our lives.
Parts Work
We are composed of distinct parts, each with something important to offer. At their core, our parts are fundamentally good and trying to protect us in their own ways.

With curiosity and compassion, we'll gently tend to the parts that need attention. As our parts learn to trust our leadership, the inner-conflict we so often feel begins to soften.

Finding the Right Counsellor
First things first...

It’s normal to feel nervous before reaching out to a counsellor. This is especially true if you’ve never worked with one before. Therapy involves sharing vulnerable aspects of ourselves and talking about sensitive topics that we might not have discussed with anyone else. It makes sense why this would feel like a daunting task. It might be helpful to know that whatever concerns you’re facing, you can rest assured there are others who are experiencing something similar.
Finding the right counsellor matters, so that's why we'll first have a free 20 minute consultation call is to see if we’d be the right fit. You can ask me any questions you might have and I’ll share a bit about myself and how I work. I’ll want to know your story and what type of change or support you’re seeking. At the end of our call, you don’t need to make a decision on whether or not to work with me. No pressure or commitment. Take all the time you need.
If you decide to work with me, my aim is to create a welcoming space where you feel safe to share whatever feels meaningful. It’s important to me that we go at a pace that feels manageable to you. With the information that you provide me, your therapy will be tailored to your individual needs and goals. I view the people I work with as the experts of their own lives and I see my role as someone who will help you uncover the wisdom and strength you inherently possess.

A Little About Me...

My path toward counselling grew from a deep interest in psychology, personal growth, and the ways people make meaning of their lives. I believe that when people are provided the space to explore their inner workings with compassion and curiosity, they are able to take courageous steps towards building the life they are meant to lead.

I live in Nelson, B.C. with my husband and our dog, Bodhi. Besides helping others, I find joy in reading, spending time in nature, and painting with watercolours.
